Scripture (NIV)
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19
Reflection
When Jesus spoke these words to His disciples, He was giving them a mission that stretched beyond their comfort zones. The call to “go and make disciples” wasn’t only for pastors, missionaries, or leaders—it was for all who follow Him. This command reminds us that faith is not something to be tucked away privately; it’s meant to be lived out and shared.
In today’s world, “going” doesn’t always mean traveling across oceans. It can mean stepping into the life of a coworker who needs encouragement, listening to a friend who feels forgotten, or modeling Christ’s love in your family. Making disciples begins with showing the heart of Jesus in the ordinary rhythms of life. Our daily interactions—whether online, in the workplace, or at the dinner table—are opportunities to reflect His light.
Jesus also reminds us that this mission is not done in our own strength. We go in the name and authority of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. That means we don’t carry the pressure of results, only the faithfulness of obedience. As we step forward, God equips us, strengthens us, and works through us to draw people closer to Him.
Application
Ask yourself: Where is God calling me to “go” today? It may be as simple as sharing a word of hope with a neighbor, praying for a struggling friend, or inviting someone to church. Write down one intentional step you can take this week to live out the Great Commission in your circle of influence.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for entrusting me with Your mission. Help me to walk boldly in Your authority and love, carrying Your name into my everyday life. Give me courage to share my faith, wisdom to know how to love others well, and strength to obey Your call. May my words and actions lead others closer to You. Amen.
Takeaway/Affirmation
I am called, equipped, and empowered to share Christ’s love wherever I go.
